Favorite artist: MANY! Jhonatan Pulido, Miroslava Svolikova, Valie Export. 

A theatre director and dramaturg, Katharina used her time on our programme to improve her video editing skills. The result is an experimental short which the artist describes as a “surreal take on gambling”. The work pushes borders between reality & imagination, whilst exploring textures & atmospheres and the ways in which gambling can infiltrate someone’s life.   Filmed entirely on an iPhone, in her flat and the surrounding N17 area during the pandemic.

More about Katharina:  Katharina works mainly in new writing, where collaboration is key to her practice – teaming up with composers, designers, and technicians in order to explore ideas together and create captivating performances.  She loves working with music and movement – soundscapes and physicality influence her creative process throughout. Aiming to push boundaries with form, narrative and themes, Katharina’s work is politically and socially charged and seeks to connect audiences and artists alike.
